We all remember the Jon Gruden incident with the Las Vegas Raiders, so, I don't really need to go into that, or all of the details, or any of the details, for that matter. But, Gruden was once the head coach of the Raiders, twice, actually. And now he's out of coaching.
It's funny though, because a lot of Raiders fans are desperate for a good coach right now. At least that's what they're saying. And, a lot of them are missing what Gruden brought to the team. But, that is all recency bias, and right now Antonio Pierce has this team at 2-7, with a loss to the Miami Dolphins this week putting the Raiders at 2-8.
But now Gruden is kind of off the market as a coach, as if he would get hired anyway. Who knows, maybe he would, but for now he is off the market. That's why he is in the news again.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the media company Barstool Sports has hired Gruden, which is one of the more weird fits I thought we would ever see.
Gruden has been blowing up recently for his TikTok and YouTube videos, specifically his "nicey" videos where he is scaring viewers with his facial expressions.
At least he is in the news for something good.
After their game against the Dolphins, the Raiders will be set to take on division opponents in the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs.
