Former Illini Marcus Domask makes Chicago Bulls Training camp roster

Former Illini basketball star, Marcus Domask, has made the training camp roster for the Chicago Bulls. Domask signed an exhibit-10 deal with the Bulls after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft. Though this is cool to see, Domask may likely end up in the G-league. He barely played during the 2024 Summer League. In 11.3 minutes for the Bulls Summer League team, Domask averaged 2.3 points on 30 percent field goal percentage.  It was pretty clear that Marcus struggled to play off the ball consistently.

However, his abilities may not have been fully appreciated. If Domask can find a rhythm and show what he can do with the ball in his lands, he has the chance to make an NBA Roster.

Marcus Domask: An Illini to remember.

Marcus Domask had quite the college career. The Wisconsin native played four productive seasons at Southern Illinois and then played his final year with the Illini. During his one year in Champaign, Domask made quite an impact. He became an incredibly creative scorer and coined the phrase “booty-ball”. That “booty-ball” offense will certainly be remembered for generations to come. During the 2023-2024 season, Marcus averaged 15.9 points per game, 5.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists. He also had some memorable performances in key games for Illini basketball.

Whether Domask makes an NBA roster this season is still in question, however, we have to hope that he can put his versatile skillset on display.
