Ask any Green Bay Packers fan about Davante Adams’ eight-year stint with the team, and many will answer you with longing in their eyes. He was a reliable target for Aaron Rodgers through the mid-2010s and early 2020s, providing plenty of spectacular catches and moments that fans would remember for years.

However, the fans were forced to see him walk away, as the talented wideout wanted a contract the team could not simply provide. He first joined the Las Vegas Raiders to reunite with Derek Carr, whom he played with at Fresno State.

However, Carr was eventually pushed out of the team and Adams was stuck playing with a mediocre QB in Jimmy Garoppolo. The six-time Pro Bowler has expressed his frustration over the situation, with many predicting he will be out of the team soon.

He’s since requested a way out of the Raiders, and his former teammate is moving heaven and earth to bring him to the New York Jets. However, there’s a new contender for the talented wideout as one trade rumor sparked the possibility of the move happening.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports that the former wideout is being actively pursued by the Steelers to improve their pass offense and secure their position at the top of the AFC North:

“Davante Adams might prefer to play with Aaron Rodgers on the Jets or Derek Carr on the Saints, but I’m still watching the Steelers as a potential landing spot. They were very active in the Brandon Aiyuk sweepstakes when that was going on this summer, and my understanding is they plan to continue to be aggressive in pursuing wide receiver help.

Their top receiver is George Pickens, whose reduced snap count in Sunday night’s loss is an indication he doesn’t have the full trust of the coaching staff, and they’re ultra-thin behind him. Adams would immediately slot in as their No. 1 wide receiver, and they’ll do what they can to find out if they can get him.”

Adams’ stats for Las Vegas this year makes it clear why the Packers are interested in getting the former Green Bay Packers wideout. He’s already tallied 209 receiving yards and one touchdown for 11.6 yards per catch through three games.

While the Packers aren’t indicating any serious interest in reclaiming their former wideout, the fans are hoping that their former star wide receiver lands in a situation where he’s happy and thriving.
