Former Gіаnts Stаr Sаys ‘He Loved’ Sаquon Bаrkley Sіgnіng Wіtһ Eаgles

One of the crazier moves of the NFL offseason came when running back Saquon Barkley left the New York Giants to join the arch-rival Philadelphia Eagles.

He signed a three-year deal as a free agent and will join Pro Bowl quarterback Jalen Hurts and 1,000-yard receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith in Philly.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY - DECEMBER 11: Saquon Barkley #26 of the New York Giants takes the field prior to the game against the Green Bay Packers during the first quarter in the game at MetLife Stadium on December 11, 2023 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Former Giants running back Brandon Jacobs recently appeared on the “Talkin’ Ball” podcast to chat about Barkley’s decision to go to the Eagles.

“I loved it…The guy gave the Giants a lot…He wanted to be in New York…I’m happy for him…I think he deserved that 12.5 (million) that he’s getting,” Jacobs said.

Nobody knows Giants running backs better than Jacobs, who spent eight seasons with New York in his career (2005-2011, 2013) and won two Super Bowls.

Barkley joining the Eagles was a home-run move for both parties.

Philly lost their starting running back from a season ago in 1,000-yard rusher D’Andre Swift to the Chicago Bears in free agency.

Now, Barkley brings a ton of ability and star power with him.

The former All-American at Penn State was a two-time Pro Bowler with the Giants.

In his six years with Big Blue, he recorded three 1,000-yard rushing seasons and four seasons with at least 1,200 scrimmage yards.

The Eagles have one of the more talented offenses in the entire National Football League.

The addition of Barkley makes this offensive attack even more dangerous for teams looking to stop the run.
