If left up to his former teammate, running back Brandon Jacobs, voters wouldn’t wait much longer to induct Manning into Canton. He gave TMZ Sports two reasons why on Thursday.

Manning’s regular season stats were never all that impressive. His record in the regular season is 117-117, an even 500, he led the NFL in interceptions in three separate seasons and his 60.3% completion percentage is far below his quarterback counterparts.

When the pressure was on, however, there was no one better than Manning, who ranks 16th in fourth-quarter comebacks in NFL history. This was ever-present in his two Super Bowl matchups against Brady and the Patriots.

In those games, Manning was 49-for-74 throwing for 551 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception with a 96.2 passer rating.

His brother, Peyton, was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2017 and into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021. Whether Eli gets inducted or not, he always will have bragging rights over the greatest quarterback in NFL history, Brady, whom Eli said he teases Brady only from the keyboard.

“I only do it on social media in person,” he said. “I do it behind the social media bubble, like so many other people do. I’m like, ‘Oh, I get this. Now I can kind of take some shots at Brady.’

“But when I see him in person, I go into a shell. Because, I mean, he could crush me if I say something kind of bragging. All he has to do is show his seven Super Bowl rings and MVPs. And so, I don’t bring it up. He brings up the ‘07 season, when they could have gone undefeated, a little bit.”
