Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs is embracing life with the Houston Texans despite challenges on and off the field.
Diggs, who tore his ACL in October, shared in an interview with PEOPLE how he’s staying positive during rehab and giving back to his fans in unexpected ways.
Partnering with Domino’s, Diggs has launched a promotion offering free pizzas to football fans who had him on their rosters.
"It’s bigger than football," Diggs said, emphasizing the importance of connecting with supporters even while sidelined.
The injury, sustained during their Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts, marked a difficult moment in Diggs’ first season with the Texans. Despite the setback, Diggs reflected on the mental resilience he developed during previous injuries in college.
“I’ve been through this before. It’s tough, but I know how to handle it," he shared.
Transitioning to a new team, Diggs found an immediate sense of camaraderie with quarterback CJ Stroud and the Texans roster.
“When I got here, it felt like I’d known these guys forever. We’re like brothers,” he told PEOPLE.
Diggs described waking up each day with gratitude, adding, “Every day I smiled because I knew I was blessed to be here.”
Looking back at his time with the Bills, Diggs expressed nothing but admiration for his former teammates. Over four seasons, he amassed an impressive 37 touchdowns and 5,372 yards.
Diggs remains focused on his recovery and contributing in any way he can. Whether it’s on the field or through surprise pizza deliveries, the star wide receiver is determined to make an impact.
