Perhaps former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs misses quarterback Josh Allen.
This last offseason, the Bills dealt Diggs to the Houston Texans after he and Allen bickered over the past two seasons. Although their relationship didn't end amicably, the wideout said he expects the QB to win his first MVP this season.
"It's no secret that Josh Allen is amazing," Diggs told NFL Media's Kyle Brandt Tuesday on "Good Morning Football." "He's making those plays. It's not new to me at all. He's finally getting the credit he deserves. He's playing at a very high level. I feel like he deserves it."
As of Tuesday, FanDuel Sportsbook lists Allen as the MVP favorite (-900) ahead of Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.
Over his past two games against the Rams and Lions, Allen likely widened the gap. During this stretch, the QB passed for 704 yards and five touchdowns. He also rushed for 150 yards and five TDs on 21 carries.
Through his first 14 starts, Allen is 11-3 and ranks eighth in the league in passing yards (3,395), sixth in TD passes (25) and first in QBR (79.3).
What's even more impressive is that Allen is having an outstanding year after losing a star WR in Diggs. In four seasons with Buffalo, he made four Pro Bowls. Before suffering a season-ending ACL tear in 2024, he logged 47 receptions for 496 yards and three TD catches in eight games.
The Bills still haven't found a true replacement for Diggs. In October, they acquired five-time Pro Bowl WR Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns, but he only has one TD catch in six games with Buffalo.
This further illustrates that Allen is one of the few QBs who can thrive with or without elite pass-catchers, which is why he continues to generate MVP buzz.
