The Green Bay Packers have a lot to look forward to going into the 2024 season. The latter half of last season proved to the league that this Packers team has a ton of potential moving forward. That potential starts with Jordan Love and extends through all the weapons they’ve surrounded him with.
It also includes the completely revamped defensive unit. Coaching staff, players, and philosophy have all been modified this off-season.
The intensity can get overwhelming at times, and that’s what happened today.
According to Ryan Wood of USA Today:
First team period of first padded practice of camp. And we’ve got our first fight. Dontayvion Wicks and Keisean Nixon going after each other after a rep. Scrum ensues.
The tenacity and toughness this team needs will develop over time. We see fights every year In training camp. Those fights breaking out can drive a team apart or (more likely) wind up building the team closer than ever.
Wicks is projected to have an incredible year in Green Bay. Nixon is looking for his third straight All-Pro season as a return man. It will be interesting to see how they grow over the next few months.
