Falcons sign Georgia native DE Leonard Floyd to 1-year, $10 million deal, reports say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Atlanta Falcons signed defensive end Leonard Floyd to a one-year, $10 million deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Floyd is a native of Chauncey, Georgia, and played college football at Georgia from 2013 to 2015.

He was a first-round pick by the Chicago Bears in 2016 and was named to the 2016 All-Rookie team. Since his release from the Bears in 2019, he has played for the Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers released him earlier Tuesday.

His 8.5 sacks were second on the 49ers in 2024, behind on Nick Bosa’s nine.

The Falcons recorded just 31 sacks in 2024, the second-worst in the NFL. Floyd’s 8.5 sacks would have led the team. Arnold Ebiketie had six sacks last year.
