Falcons Sign Former Texans Tight End

According to NFL Insider Aaron Wilson , the Atlanta Falcons are signing former Houston Texans tight end Teagan Quitoriano.

Following a workout on Friday with Atlanta, Quitoriano will now be the team's third-string tight end behind Kyle Pitts and Charlie Woerner. Quitoriano, 25, was drafted by the Texans in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft out of Oregon State. He spent the last three seasons in Houston, recording 9 catches for 146 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in 23 career games (15 starts).

Quitorianos' production has been minimal in the Texans' offense over the past two seasons, recording only 2 catches, after catching 7 passes for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns during his rookie season with the team.

As it stands, Quitoriano will serve as the team's third tight end. They will get him at an affordable rate to provide depth at the position. The team has also signed Feleipe Franks, a hybrid quarterback and tight end.

Ross Dwelley has yet to re-sign with Atlanta, but it now appears that he will spend next season on the practice squad or in a different city altogether. Kyle Pitts is set to earn $10.8 million in the final year of his NFL contract, but has yet to sign a new one.

For now, opinions are divided on whether Kyle Pitts should return to Atlanta or not. The production has been down for a player that is considered a "Generational talent." Although the depth of Woerner and Quitoriano isn't necessarily difference-making, it does provide Atlanta with big bodies on special teams as well.
