ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has been named to the Pro Bowl Games later this week in Orlando, replacing Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, who will be playing in the Super Bowl the week after.

He joins Chris Lindstrom (right guard) and KhaDarel Hodge (wide receiver) as Falcons representatives. Robinson was first listed as an alternate behind Barkley and fellow NFC running backs Jahmyr Gibbs (Detroit Lions) and Josh Jacobs (Green Bay Packers).

The second-year running back ran for 1,456 rushing yards, good for third in the NFL. He averaged 4.8 yards per carry.

He also caught 61 passes for 431 receiving yards and one touchdown, establishing himself as one of the best dual-threat backs in the league.

In his end-of-season press conference on Jan. 6, Falcons head coach Raheem Morris praised Robinson for his work ethic in 2024.

“Bijan is special,” Morris said. “The human, the football player, the character, soon to be leader, taking on an even higher role, wanting it, asking for it, the workload that he was able to carry for us this year, all of those things from an offense, defense, special teams, whatever it is. Whatever you ask him to do, he’s going to be able to go out there and do, and he’s going to be able to go out there and help you do.

“He’s a special human. And for me to say that I expected that, I don’t know. He’s as special as you get.”

The Pro Bowl Games begin on Thursday, with the skills challenges starting at 7 p.m. Other competitions, along with the flag-football game, kick off Sunday at 3 p.m. Fans can watch the games on ESPN, ABC, and Disney+, or stream them on ESPN.com, ESPN+, NFL+, and FuboTV.
