It might be time for the Atlanta Falcons to move on from a former first-round pick.
Kyle Pitts, the tantalizing tight end who hasn't quite panned out, would be a possible trade candidate as the offseason moves on.
Bernd Buchmasser of Pats Pulpit suggested the Patriots should try and acquire Pitts to give promising QB Drake Maye another weapon.
Pitts shone brightly as a rookie, putting up 1,026 receiving yards and a full highlight reel of standout plays.
Since then, injuries, inconsistency and ineffectiveness have limited Pitts' ability to be a game-changing player for the Falcons.
Now 24, Pitts is coming off a season with 47 catches for 602 yards.
Atlanta could view Pitts as a necessary weapon for second-year QB Michael Penix. Or the Falcons could decide he's not going to be part of their future and move on.
Pitts still has enough upside to draw a decent return in a trade, but it'd be a tough pill for the Falcons to swallow to trade away a top-10 pick that at one point looked so promising.
