Falcons Jeff Ulbrich Intends To Create Pressure On Opposing Quarterbacks

After spending the last four seasons with the New York Jets, Jeff Ulbrich's hiring was announced by the Atlanta Falcons on Jan. 18th.

Affecting the opposing quarterback is Jeff Ulbrich's 'top priority'

Ulbrich led the Jets as interim head coach in 12 games last season after the firing of Robert Saleh.

Having worked with Atlanta between 2015-2020 in various defensive roles, including alongside current Falcons Head Coach Raheem Morris, Ulbrich alluded to his growth as a man and coach. He also stated that his main focus would be putting pressure on the quarterback, something that Atlanta hasn't had in some time.

Ulbrich wasn't shy about making it known that he would be the signal caller when it came to the defense. He stated that, "Affecting the quarterback is my top priority." Ulbrich also said during his media session. "Getting them off the spot, hits, all those things. In New York, we did that at a high clip."

In 2024, the Atlanta defense would rank in the league's bottom tier, sitting at number 23rd. Ulbrich will undoubtedly have a challenging task ahead revamping the defense, but he comes back to Atlanta with much more experience this time and hopes to make that side of the ball a more consistent and aggressive unit.

Kirk Cousins Reveals Key Injuries Affected Him Last Season

The future of Atlanta Falconsquarterback Kirk Cousins is uncertain going into 2025.

Cousins actually shed some light on Tuesday morning with NFL Network's Good Morning Football on why his season might have dipped some, and it started with the Week 10 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

The Falcons quarterback said that he took a hit during that game and hurt his right shoulder and elbow.
