Fact Check: Did Dolphins Tyreek Hill Beat Champion Olympic Sprinter Noah Lyles in a 100m Dash?

Tyreek Hill finally achieved his dream of beating a Lyles in a race. However, before Hill’s fans jump to any conclusions, the Miami Dolphins star won against Josephus Lyles, who is the brother of Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles.

Fact Check: Did Dolphins Tyreek Hill Beat Champion Olympic Sprinter Noah Lyles in a 100m Dash?

The atmosphere at the ATX Sprint Classic meet in Austin tensed after Hill showed up to challenge Lyles.

Hill beat Josephus in the race, but there’s a minor twist in the story. They raced against four others in the 100m sprint, and the 31-year-old star wideout ended in fourth place.

The satisfaction of defeating a Lyles wasn’t on Hill’s face after the race because he knew that he was much slower than Noah Lyles’ personal best of 9.83 seconds. The 27-year-old would have smoked Hill if he were one of the participants.

According to NBC Sports, the ATX Sprint Classic is the second known organized race in a matter of weeks. Hill also raced at the Last Chance Sprint Series meet in Los Angeles and clocked 10.15 seconds. He bettered the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf’s 10.37-second record from 2021.

The rivalry between Hill and Lyles has intrigued fans since the 2024 NFL offseason. Fans were eager for the two to put an end to their rivalry by participating in a race.

Reports suggested that the two athletes agreed to race on June 16. Unfortunately, they canceled it for reasons unknown.

A win over the younger Lyles is a good confidence booster for Hill. This might even propel him to perform at his best with the Dolphins as well.

Tyreek Hill sends a warning to the rest of the NFL

The Dolphins are desperate to avoid repeating the outcome from last campaign. Even though it started the year on the right track, Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion derailed their ambitions of consecutive playoff appearances.

Mike McDaniel lost control of the Dolphins’ ship, and they finished with 8 wins. McDaniel’s job will be on the line in 2025. However, Hill isn’t too concerned because he knows that the Dolphins have assembled a squad capable of beating any team, even his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Man, you asleep, bruh? The Dolphins gonna take… the AFC. Miami Dolphins take the AFC. Don’t doubt it. We all know Tua is the best quarterback in the NFL… It will be a very emotional game for me.

Tyreek Hill told former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel on the Glory Daze podcast

This is a complete 180 from last year by Hill. Following the final day defeat to the New York Jets, Hill threatened to quit the team and force a trade because it was the worst season of his career.

Hill seemed dead set on leaving Miami, and the Dallas Cowboys were reportedly keen on bringing the Super Bowl winner to Arlington. One of the reasons that motivated him was the salary package. He had one foot out of the door when suddenly his mood changed.

Now, Tyreek Hill’s only goal is seeing the Dolphins as champions instead of taking the bag.

I don’t even gotta be the highest paid. I just want to win ball games and take advantage of being in this great organization.

Tyreek Hill said

Hill at present earns $30 million a year, which is the seventh most, tied with the 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk.
