New Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed commands the respect of his teammates
The Tennessee Titans made a huge move when acquiring superstar cornerback L’Jarius Sneed from the Kansas City Chiefs in a trade earlier this offseason. I recently caught up Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton on behalf of Campbell’s and their new Chunky Spicy Nashville-Style Hot Chicken Soup, which is delicious by the way. I asked Bolton about Sneed, and reserved his comments for this Music City Miracles exclusive.
Here’s what Bolton had to say about Sneed:
“That’s my brother. He wanted to get something done [contract wise] throughout the season. It just didn’t work out that way. Tennessee swooped in and handled their business. I talked to him about it [during the Super Bowl celebration] at The White House. I talked to him on the phone after [the trade] as well. He actually has a house not too far from mine in Texas. Our parents grew up together in the same area. We’re going to link back up when we’re both at home in Texas.
L’Jarius Sneed is the most reliable guy the Titans will find in their locker room. He’s an excellent communicator. You know what you’re going to get from him every single day. He’s the ultimate competitor. He’s resilient and intelligent. I can rave all day long about L’Jarius Sneed. He’s going to be my brother for life and I wish him all the best. He’s going to be a great player for the Tennessee Titans. I hope he doesn’t play too well if we play against him” (laughs).
It’s interesting to hear that Sneed was in discussions with the Chiefs over a potential contract extension throughout the 2023 campaign. It was a long-lasting standoff that eventually ended with him being traded to the Titans. Their loss is Tennessee’s gain.
