After three strong seasons under Lane Kiffin as an Ole Miss Rebel, quarterback Jaxson Dart is poised to make the jump to the professional level this spring. He has been one of the hottest names in NFL Draft circles since the end of the 2024 college football season and is quickly rising up draft boards.
While there is some mystery about where Dart will be selected on draft day, he should not drop any further than the second round. Many think that while he is a bit unpolished, he has all the tools to be a first-round pick. Former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Chase Daniel said in a recent post on X that he thought Dart could be chosen on Day 1.
Daniel's comment was posted in conjunction with an impressive highlight from Ole Miss' matchup against Duke in the Gator Bowl in January. Because of the ability that Dart shows in the clip, the former NFL quarterback thinks that he has what it takes to be a first-round pick in 2025.
Dart certainly had his share of impressive plays and performances during his tenure as a Rebel but the overall impression is that he is a bit of a project for an NFL team. The combine will be an important part of the pre-draft process for the Ole Miss quarterback but getting a co-sign from a former NFL quarterback can't hurt either.
