Following the Detroit Lions' heartbreaking playoff loss to the Washington Commanders, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has been the talk of the league. He has interviewed with multiple teams, including the Las Vegas Raiders, about a potential head coaching position.
Johnson has emerged as the most popular head coaching candidate on the open market following his spectacular season as Detroit's offensive coordinator. The Lions had the number one overall offense in the league in most major categories, which has caught the attention of teams that struggled offensively in recent years.
With Johnson being rumored to be the favorite to land the Raiders' head coach position, the Raider Nation flooded social media immediately following the Lions' loss on Saturday night, calling for him to come to Las Vegas.
"Tom Brady said I've never seen that play in my life. Ben Johnson, you are a Raider," said one fan after Detroit's offense ran a trick play for a large gain in the third quarter.
"Ben Johnson clearly wants to be a Raider sooner rather than later," another fan said immediately following the Lions' loss.
"Announce Ben Johnson to the Raiders now," a user said after the game.
"Ben Johnson will be the Raiders head coach by weekend's end," a Raiders fan posted.
Only time will tell if Johnson ends up in Las Vegas, but it does seem to be trending that way.
