ESPN names the non quarterback prospect that the New York Giants should target outside of the first round in the 2025 NFL Draft

The New York Giants have a big decision to make with their first selection (No. 3 overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Will the Giants select a quarterback, do they trade up, trade down, or do they take a non-quarterback in Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter?

We'll see how that decision plays out in a couple of weeks. It's not the only draft decision, however, that the Giants have to make.

While most of the attention centers on the Giants' first round selection, they currently have seven other selections in this year's draft. And they obviously have plenty of needs to fill.

On Tuesday, ESPN pointed out the top player that New York should target outside of the first round.

ESPN thinks Ohio State Buckeyes offensive lineman Donovan Jackson would be an ideal fit for the Giants.

From ESPN: Prospect to fill a need outside Round 1: Donovan Jackson, G, Ohio State. Jackson played left guard and left tackle at Ohio State. He has the power and agility to be an exciting Day 1 starting option on the right side of the Giants' offensive line.

The Giants could certainly use some offensive line help, even though that unit showed some improvement in 2024. And Jackson is an NFL ready player that could make an instant impact for New York in 2025.

There's no guarantee, however, that Jackson will fall to the Giants in the second round (New York has the No. 34 overall selection). Some recent mock drafts, in fact, have Jackson getting selected near the end of the first round.

You never know how the draft will actually play out, so maybe Jackson falls to the Giants on day two of the draft. If so, New York should strongly consider selecting the former Buckeye.
