Dolphins Projected To Land Six-Time Pro Bowl WR

The Miami Dolphins already boast one of the more explosive wide receiver tandems in the NFL and could boost their offense even more with the signing of Keenan Allen.

Los Angeles Chargers To Sign Receiver Keenan Allen? Chicago Bears Jersey Change

In his most recent “One Final Offseason Move For All 32 Teams” feature, ESPN Analyst Aaron Schatz named Keenan Allen as an ideal fit for Miami.

My annual ESPN piece on one more move for each team in July. A couple of trade suggestions, some contract extensions that should be done, and a few homes for remaining free agents are all in here.

Adding Allen into the mix could give the Dolphins one of the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL.

A three-headed monster, that would give QB Tua Tagovailoa a boost and help get the Dolphins back to their 2023 offensive form.

Allen Is A Perfect Match For Dolphins

Keenan Allen is currently an unrestricted free agent and played his 2024 season with the Chicago Bears.

Allen racked up 744 yards and 7 touchdowns last season with Chicago.

At 33-years old, this WR still has some juice left in the tank.

In addition, Allen had an average of 10.6 yards per reception.

While that is not the highest mark of his career, his route running can still be effective in the right situation.

Before his time in Chicago, Allen spent 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.

With the Chargers, Allen posted six, 1,000-yard seasons and a combined 39 touchdowns.

The Dolphins singing Keenan Allen isn’t about chasing a name— it’s about adding production to an already dynamic offense.

“Right now, Miami’s top slot options are the Washington “not-brothers,” two low-round draft picks from a year ago. In 2024, Malik Washington had just 26 catches for 223 yards with no touchdowns, while Tahj Washington missed his entire rookie season with an undisclosed injury. That makes Miami the perfect landing spot for a seasoned veteran slot receiver like Allen,” per Aaron Schatz in his latest feature.

Adding WR Makes Sense Now

The Dolphins took a step back last season, largely due to the injury of QB Tua Tagovailoa.

Miami’s offense ranked 22nd in points out of all 32 teams in the NFL and only completed 22 touchdown passes.

Adding another wide receiver like Allen would help the Dolphins’ offense immensely.

Allen would thrive in a slot-type role and would have room to work underneath with the speedy Hill and Waddle on the outside.

Moreover, adding Allen would give the Dolphins a savvy veteran in their wide receiver room.

Having played 154 NFL games, Allen would rub off well on the young wide receivers of the Dolphins.

Allen has made a career out of being a reliable target and teammate, which would pay dividends for a team trying to get back to the playoffs in 2025.

If Miami were to make this move, it would work against the veteran rumors surrounding the Dolphins in moving on from Jalen Ramsey and possibly Jonnu Smith.

With the Dolphins’ offense continuing to search for answers, making this move would allow HC Mike McDaniel to scheme more receivers open and give a needed boost for his star quarterback.

Tagovailoa needs to show he can still move the ball at an elite level and adding Allen would be well worth the gamble.

Aaron Schatz may just be projecting in his latest feature, but a Keenan Allen signing to Miami makes too much sense to ignore.
