The Bachelorette season 21's Jenn Tran gave a rose to Thomas Nguyen at the second rose ceremony despite being disappointed by his actions, but will he make it to the end with her and get engaged? Jenn, a 26-year-old physician assistant student originally from Hillsdale, New Jersey, but currently living in Boston, Massachusetts, got her start on Joey Graziadei's Bachelor season. She made it to his Top 6, but he said goodbye to her right before his hometown dates. Now Jenn is continuing her journey to find love in her own season.
During The Bachelorette season 21, Jenn is making history as the first-ever Asian American Bachelor franchise lead. Thomas is the only fully Asian American contestant in her cast, so she was able to bond with him about their shared Vietnamese backgrounds on premiere night. However, during episode 2, Thomas got into a confrontation with Devin Strader when he became furious that Devin stole Jenn away after the men agreed that Thomas and the other men who didn't spend time with her yet could speak to her first. Will Jenn be able to get past Thomas' mistake?
Who Is Thomas Nguyen?
Thomas Is A Retirement Adviser From Georgia
Thomas is a 31-year-old retirement adviser from Tucker, Georgia. During The Bachelorette season 21 premiere, Jenn and Thomas had a lovely conversation about their Vietnamese backgrounds. They spoke about growing up with immigrant parents, and how much their mothers sacrificed for them. Jenn's mother left medical school, while Thomas' gave up pharmaceutical school in order to give their children better lives. They bonded about how their parents sacrificed their own dreams for theirs.
Do Thomas & Jenn Get Engaged?
Jenn Doesn't Choose Thomas In The End
According to Reality Steve, Jenn didn't get engaged to Thomas at the end of The Bachelorette season 21. During week 3, while still in Australia, Thomas participated in a male stripper revue group date, before which the guys were coached by dancers from Thunder Down Under. In week 4, Jenn and the remaining men traveled to Auckland, New Zealand, during which Thomas was chosen for a rugby-themed group date. Reality Steve is pretty sure that Thomas was eliminated at the week 4 rose ceremony.
Although Jenn had a strong initial connection with Thomas, his aggressive behavior with Devin seemed to be a real turn-off for her. The fact that he pulled Devin away to argue with him, rather than focusing his attention on Jenn was bad enough. However, when he explained that the guys had decided the order of which man Jenn would speak to first, she told him that they were taking away her ability to make her own decisions.
Hopefully, Thomas will redeem himself in the next two episodes. It would be a shame if he left the show looking like a villain. If Thomas does turn things around, perhaps he could continue his journey to find love on Bachelor in Paradise or as the next star of The Bachelor.
