DK Metcalf Under Fire for Outburst in Seahawks Win Over Bears

With the Seattle Seahawks locked in a tight battle with the Chicago Bears in a must-win game on Thursday, wide receiver DK Metcalf had an outburst that could have cost his team dearly.

The wide receiver got into an altercation with Bears defensive back Tyrique Stevenson in the second quarter, leading to the two exchanging shoves and Metcalf then appeared to head-butt Stevenson.

The Seahawks were hit with a 15-yard penalty, setting them back deep into their own territory. While the Seahawks were able to move into field-goal range just before halftime and kick what would be the game-winning field goal, many fans were still angry at Metcalf for putting the team at risk at such a critical time.

Many took to social media to share their displeasure following the 6-3 win, with some calling for the Seahawks to dump Metcalf in the future.

"DK Metcalf is a 27 year old man in his 6th year in the NFL. These things cannot continue to happen. Get him out of this organization," a fan shared in a post on X.

"We gotta get DK Metcalf on another team man," another fan wrote on X.

Metcalf got in trouble several times during the 2023 season, racking up five separate fines for incidents including unnecessary roughness and a blindside block. He had largely cleaned up his act this season, earning just one fine for unnecessary roughness after a Week 5 loss to the New York Giants.

After Thursday's win over the Bears, Metcalf did not seem to regret his altercation with Stevenson.

"I'm a grown man," Metcalf said, via NFL Network's Jane Slater. "My emotions are in check. Like I said, it's a physical game out there. Especially when I'm out there. I'm gonna test the DB."

The Seahawks moved to 9-7 with the win over the Bears on Thursday, keeping them in the hunt for the NFC West division title.
