Deshaun Watson Shares Cryptic Message After Jimmy Haslam's Comments

The veteran quarterback, however, appeared to have responded to Browns' owner Jimmy Haslam's remarks earlier on Tuesday.

“Let’s address the elephant in the room,” Haslam told reporters. “We took a big swing and miss with Deshaun. We thought we had the quarterback, we didn’t and we gave up a lot of draft picks to get him. So we’ve got to dig ourselves out of that hole.”

Hours later, he posted a series of pictures to share his progress on Instagram. The former Houston Texans star shared a short message that drew plenty of reactions from his colleagues.

"maybe, if I weren’t built for this, I’d let it phase me," he captioned the post.

Since he was traded from the Texans, Watson has managed to post a 9-10 record with the Browns. Injuries and inconsistency have summed up his tenure with the AFC North franchise and the front office is headed in a different direction this offseason.

Whether they draft a quarterback with the No. 3 overall selection in the 2025 draft or name Kenny Pickett the starter for next season, the Browns are moving on from Watson.

He's coming off two consecutive Achilles injuries that limited him to six and seven games in the past two seasons, respectively. With Haslam admitting that trading for him and giving him a fully guaranteed $230 million deal was a mistake, the Browns are set to start a new era.
