Denver Broncos Coach Sean Payton Calls Out Raiders Stars After Win
The Denver Broncos were able to get their seventh win this season against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. The Raiders have seemed to have Denver's number in recent history, but it seems like the narrative is changing quickly. Head coach Sean Payton pointed out his team's key to having success.
When debriefing the game, Payton talked about how this Broncos team is much different than last year's squad. At the end, he told reporters, "89 (Brock Bowers), 98 (Maxx Crosby), 19 (DJ Turner) and those are really good players, but we didn't hear for them a lot."
The long-time NFL head coach made it clear that taming star players like tight end Brock Bowers and pass rusher Maxx Crosby was one of the keys to their victory. Bowers finished the game with four receptions for 38 yards, while Crosby only recorded five tackles.
The Raiders had beaten Denver eight times in a row leading up to this season, but the Broncos have officially clinched the season sweep against their divisional foe in 2024. It comes as no surprise, though, as it has been a Broncos team that is in playoff contention, and a historically bad Raiders team this season.
For now, Las Vegas still leads Denver 73-56-2 in the overall rivalry, but the Broncos are a much more put together team built for the future than the Raiders, who seem to always find chaos every season.
