DeeJay Dallas finally gets his wish when Seahawks play the Cardinals in Week 12

DeeJay Dallas used to be funny. He has not changed as a human being and he is probably a decent guy, but the former Seattle Seahawks running back is less humorous now. Partly this is because he signed with NFC West rival, the Arizona Cardinals, this offseason, and the Cards are pretty good. So if Dallas as a kick returner. But Dallas still found a way to disrespect the Seahawks this offseason.

DeeJay Dallas of the Arizona Cardinals

During minicamp in May, a row of Cardinals was entering team facilities, and a reporter asked each player who they would most like to face in Week 1 of 2024. Dallas walked by and said, "I want the Seahawks." This might have simply been a case of DeeJay being DeeJay, but there is also likely little doubt that the running back's former teammates in Seattle will take umbrage to Dallas' diss.

To be fair, Dallas is a real threat to Seahawks' happiness in Week 12. He might not accomplish much as a running back, but Dallas has excelled in kick returns, something he hinted he could be great at when he was with Seattle. He is fourth in the NFL in yards per kick return at 30.7 and has returned one for 96 yards and a touchdown.

Seattle signed Laviska Shenault, Jr. in free agency and he has proven to be good in kick returns, too - he is second in the NFL at 32.1 yards per kick return - but Shenault might also miss the game due to an injury. Seattle might be watching Dallas succeed in an aspect that the Seahawks do not have their best player at the position available.

Plus, Dallas has to be happy with leaving Seattle and going to Arizona and being a part of a surprising 6-4 team that is in first place in the NFC West. That means the Cardinals not only are currently positioned for the playoffs more than any other division team, but especially Dallas' former team, the Seahawks. Should Seattle beat Arizona, the Seahawks would be no worse than in a tie for first place in the NFC West.

Dallas will be tough to deal with, though. Not only is he good as a kick returner, he will be extra motivated to help beat Seattle. He is still a funny person, though, so maybe 12s can forgive Dallas for his sin of playing for the Cardinals twice a year.
