DeAndre Hopkins Has Message For Titans Fans After Chiefs Trade
DeAndre Hopkins is now with the Chiefs and there's very good reason to believe he's going to start balling again now that he's playing with Patrick Mahomes.
DeAndre Hopkins may be a Kansas City Chief but he's still feeling the love from Nashville and Tennessee Titans fans.
Hopkins thanked Titans fans for their hospitality this last year and a half via Twitter/X.
"Thank you Nashville for bringing joy on and off the field. Nashville will forever be home!" Hopkins tweeted.
Hopkins was traded to the Chiefs on Wednesday for a fifth-round pick that can turn into a fourth-rounder if the Chiefs make the Super Bowl and Hopkins plays 60% of the snaps.
The Titans will also be eating $2.5 million of Hopkins's salary to help the Chiefs out.
Hopkins will be a primary target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, especially since the Chiefs are banged up at wide receiver. Even though Hopkins is a bit older now (32), he can still make any catch.
So far this season, he has compiled 15 receptions for 173 yards and a touchdown. He's coming off his seventh 1,000-yard season in 2023 when he compiled 75 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns.
Hopkins is expected to be in the lineup for Sunday's Chiefs-Raiders game even though he's only been on the team for less than 48 hours.
