Day 1 of Training Camp: Zach Sieler Situation is One to Watch
Day one of training camp is here, and that means all eyes are now on Zach Sieler as many are curious to see how his situation will play out.
If you’re wondering: WHAT SITUATION?
His contract situation.
Zach Sieler has no guaranteed money on his contract beyond this season, and he is seeking an extension and long-term financial security.
With all the chaos about Tyreek Hill, and the Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith trade, and the question about Miami’s secondary, this has been a very underreported story.
Will Zach Sieler show up for training camp today and report? YES!
His agent Drew Rosenhaus on WSVN Sunday evening with Josh Moser said Sieler will show up, but he declined to say how much he will participate.
Agent Drew Rosenhaus says Dolphins DT Zach Sieler will report to training camp as he seeks a new deal, he tells @TheMozKnowz on his weekly segment on WSVN. Rosenhaus declined to comment on how much camp participation Sieler will take part in.

Will Zach Sieler participate in practice? And if so, how much?
That is the million-dollar question everyone will be monitoring.
Will Zach Sieler run drills? Probably
Will Zach Sieler do practices that are not in pads and there is no contact? Probably
Will Zach Sieler practice in pads and do joint practices with the Bears and Lions? Probably no chance in hell.
Will Zach Sieler play in one preseason game? Probably not.
And if Zach Sieler takes this approach, will he be ready for week 1 of the regular season? We will see.

Sieler is coming off back-to-back 10-sack seasons and is underpaid. In fact, he is one of the most underpaid players in the league and has been for many years.
But Sieler will soon be 30 years old, and the Dolphins have been burned in the past investing big money in guys approaching or over 30 and are probably gun-shy at this time.
In reality, though, Sieler has earned an extension and a raise, and if you are trying to fix the “CULTURE,” you reward guys who have produced, done a great job, and done all the right things.
On the other hand, if this season goes south quickly in September/October, Miami will be looking at a total rebuild. It should trade Zach at the trade deadline, as he has the most trade value of anyone on the team and will result in a great pick coming back in return.
And with that in the back of your mind, it makes little sense to inflate his contract now and take a wait-and-see approach.
This week and next will be interesting to see how the Zach Sieler situation plays out as the Dolphins embark on the 2025 season.
