Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox is shutting down rumors that he’s at odds with the team’s coaching staff.
Speculation began swirling earlier this week after a local sports radio segment hinted at possible “frustrations” between Knox and the offensive staff over his role in the passing game. The chatter picked up momentum online, with some fans questioning whether the Pro Bowl tight end was unhappy heading into the season.
Knox addressed the rumors head-on after Thursday’s practice. “It’s completely false,” he said firmly. “I’ve got a great relationship with every coach on this staff. We’re all working toward the same goal — winning games and chasing a championship.”
The veteran tight end, who has been a steady contributor to Buffalo’s offense since 2019, acknowledged that social media can amplify small comments into big stories. “Someone says one thing, and before you know it, it turns into something way bigger than reality. That’s just how it goes, but I can promise you there’s no tension here.”
Bills head coach Sean McDermott echoed Knox’s statement, praising his work ethic and leadership. “Dawson’s been outstanding. He’s a team-first guy and a huge part of what we do,” McDermott told reporters.
Knox is coming off a season in which he battled through injuries but still played a key role in Buffalo’s playoff run. With the addition of rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid, there has been speculation about how the Bills will split targets, but Knox insists the dynamic is healthy. “We’ve got a lot of weapons. That’s a good problem to have.”
As the Bills continue their preseason preparations, Knox says his focus is clear: “We’ve got a special team here. Everything else is just noise.”
