Alabama basketball’s marquee 2025 matchup with Purdue in Coleman Coliseum has a date. The Boilermakers will visit Tuscaloosa on Nov. 13, UA’s NIL collective announced on Tuesday.
The Crimson Tide visited West Lafayette last season as part of the first leg of the home-and-home agreement. Alabama lost that game 87-78 in Mackey Arena.
As is Nate Oats’ preference, the Tide has a difficult non-conference schedule to begin the 2025-26 season. Alabama will face Arizona Dec. 13 in Birmingham, and will also travel to Chicago to play Illinois, Las Vegas for the Players Era Festival, and face an ACC opponent in the SEC/ACC Challenge.
The Crimson Tide’s 2024-25 season came to a disappointing end in the Elite Eight, where it fell to Duke. UA breezed through the first two rounds of the tournament, then broke the NCAA Tournament’s record for three-pointers in a single game while beating BYU in the Sweet 16 before it was eliminated one game short of the Final Four.
Since the end of the season, Alabama has been working to set its roster for next year. Labaron Philon declared for the NBA Draft on Monday, potentially joining a list of departures that includes Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, Cliff Omoruyi, Chris Youngblood, Derrion Reid, Jarin Stevenson, Mo Dioubate and Naas Cunningham.
The Crimson Tide has been active in the transfer portal, picking up Jalil Bethea from Miami, Taylor Bol Bowen from Florida State and Noah Wiliamson from Bucknell. Alabama has three true freshmen coming in, including London Jemison, Davion Hannah and Amari Allen.
The matchup with Purdue’s tipoff has not been announced.
