Daniel Jones made NY Giants history and silenced haters in thrilling win over Seattle

This is what we're talking about! Once again underdogs for a road contest, the NY Giants traveled to Seattle and took down the Seahawks in thrilling fashion. The Giants looked sharp on both sides of the ball, posting a 29-20 win. Never a doubt, right? Isaiah Simmons saved the day with his field-goal block, while Bryce Ford-Wheaton took it to the house to seal the win. Madness.

New York Giants v Seattle Seahawks

Give credit to the defense and Shane Bowen for making life tough for Geno Smith and Co. On offense, though, what about the play of Daniel Jones? There perhaps isn't another quarterback in the NFL who gets bashed more. In Week 5, though, he was close to perfect against a stingy Seattle defense.

On the day, Jones tossed for 257 yards and two touchdowns. He powered this team to a win despite both Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary missing the action. He stepped up in a huge way for Brian Daboll, goodness.

Daniel Jones was brilliant for the NY Giants in the Week 5 win over the Seahawks

In addition to his fantastic day with the passing game, Jones also finished with 39 rushing yards. With his solid day on the ground, Jones, according to Art Stapleton, has become the first quarterback in Giants history with at least 2,000 rushing yards. That just makes things even more special.

Jones even impressed people with some of his downfield throws, which have been a massive concern early on this campaign. On one drive in particular, he connected with Darius Slayton on two deep bombs, one of which put the G-Men up 17-10:

Slayton himself had a tremendous showing, finishing with eight receptions for 122 yards. No. 86 has been the center of trade rumors for a little while, but he reminded Big Blue supporters of how great he can be when he's on his game.

With this victory, the Giants are now 2-3 on the year. Plenty of people assumed they'd fall to 1-4, as the Seahawks entered this contest with a 3-1 record. Instead, Daboll and his coaches called a brilliant game and they'll now be returning home to East Rutherford pretty dang fired up.
