Daniel Jones Looks Like A Joyful School Kid While Getting Paid $35 Million NOT To Play Any Football

It is unclear as to what the New York Giants plan to do with Daniel Jones after the 2024-25 NFL season. However, they relegated their former No. 6 overall pick to the fourth-string quarterback at practice on Wednesday following the promotion of Tommy DeVito.

He looked like a giddy school kid while getting paid more than $30 million not to play football!

Daniel Jones Practice Behavior Guaranteed Money

Jones began the year as New York’s starting quarterback for the sixth year in a row. The Giants went 2-8, which brought his overall record to 24-44-1. That all-time record includes a 9-6-1 playoff run during the 2022 season, which put the organization in an unfortunate spot. Jones was on the final year of his rookie contract and just barely played his way into franchise quarterback money.

Carrie Anne Moss On Realizing The Matrix Would Be Iconic

Carrie-Anne Moss joins BroBible's Post Credit Podcast to discuss her new film 'Die Alone', surviving in a post-apocalyptic world, having an out of body experience when she remembers she's in 'The Matrix', when she realized the movie would be iconic, 'The Acolyte' being cancelled, and more.

As a result of his lone season with more than five wins, the former Duke signal-caller re-upped with New York on a four-year deal worth $160 million on March 7, 2023. It was a terrible investment.

Jones went 1-5 with six interceptions and only two touchdowns in six starts last year before a torn ACL ended his season. He threw eight touchdowns to seven interceptions with a 2-8 record this season.

The Giants announced their decision to bench Jones in favor of DeVito Cutlets earlier this week.

Not only is he not starting, he probably isn’t playing. A clause in his contract would guarantee Jones $23 million in 2025 if he cannot pass a physical in the offseason due to an injury sustained this NFL season.

To mitigate that risk, New York signed Tim Boyle. Devito will start. Drew Lock will be the backup. Boyle will the emergency quarterback. Jones probably won’t even dress.

He looked completely checked out as QB4 in practice on Thursday.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Jones’ role was minimal. Practically nonexistent, even.

Daniel Jones was on the practice field. He did very little. Worked with primarily practice squad players. The hand warmer around his waist received heavy usage. Not sure we even see him dressed as the emergency QB now that Tim Boyle is on the roster.

The 27-year-old fourth-string quarterback is going to make $35.5 million this season, regardless of whether he actually plays or not. His behavior at practice on Wednesday afternoon was rather jovial!

Daniel Jones is getting paid a fortune to do absolutely nothing. It’s not a bad gig if you can get it!
