It took a single season for Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn to turn his team into a winner. They reached the conference finals for the first time in three decades after a 12-win regular season.
An underrated part of Washington's success last year came thanks to key veteran pickups on both sides of the ball.
Veterans like linebacker Bobby Wagner, tight end Zach Ertz, center Tyler Biadasz, and many others were brought in to establish a winning culture for Washington.
They certainly did that and more in 2024.
Now comes the even harder part - sustaining that success.
Speaking to reporters at OTAs, Quinn made it clear exactly what he expects from his veteran-laden roster.
"One of the main things for the players starting off to be here, can you be an awesome teammate, top of the pile," Quinn said. "Then it gets into your role, what that can mean, how good can you get at these specific things? And then we go from there but it has to be, man, being a great teammate first.

"How do you show that to one another because not everybody's outspoken or not giving each other greeting cards every day, but there's spaces that you fill in that you're helping one another see how good you can get."
Chemistry matters a great deal to a coach like Quinn. He has seen teams win games because it is there, and vice versa. It's a similar kind of messaging the coach gave this roster last season when they were first getting started together.
If the Commanders want to be Super Bowl contenders, then the rest of the roster better follow Quinn's “greeting card’ commands for 2025.
