Crucial Justin Jefferson Injury Update Before Minnesota Vikings Face Houston Texans

Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson is expected to be “full go” for Sunday’s matchup against the Houston Texans, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

This comes after Jefferson was cleared from the injury report on Friday, having recovered from a right quadriceps contusion that forced him out of the Vikings’ Week 2 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Crucial Justin Jefferson Injury Update Before Minnesota Vikings Face Houston Texans

Despite missing the fourth quarter of last week’s game, Jefferson reassured fans on Thursday that he’ll be on the field Sunday, stating confidently, “Oh yeah, for sure” when asked about his availability.

The injury occurred during a blocking attempt on a run play, where Jefferson admitted he missed his assignment. Nevertheless, he has been in recovery and was a full participant in practice by the end of the week.

Jefferson described his injury as feeling “great” and said he’s focused on maintaining his health: “Just taking it day by day, just staying in the treatment room and working with those guys to make sure I’m feeling fantastic Sunday.”

Injury Concerns Surround Other Vikings Players

While Jefferson is set to return, the Vikings will be without several key contributors in Week 3. Fellow wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle), linebacker Ivan Pace Jr., and edge rusher Dallas Turner are all sidelined due to injuries.

Addison, who injured his ankle in Week 1, was seen rehabbing but is not expected to play as the team prioritizes his long-term health. Turner also sustained a knee injury in the Vikings’ upset win last week and has been ruled out.

Minnesota will look to its depth at both receiver and linebacker, relying on players like Jalen Nailor, Brandon Powell, and Trishton Jackson to support Jefferson in the receiving corps.

On defense, Patrick Jones II and Jihad Ward will likely step up in Turner’s absence, while Kamu Grugier-Hill is expected to fill in for Pace at off-ball linebacker.

Vikings Look to Stay Undefeated

As the Vikings prepare for their Week 3 contest, they’ll be leaning on their superstar Jefferson to anchor the offense. With a 2-0 start to the season, Minnesota aims to continue its strong play against the Texans, even as key injuries test the depth of the roster.
