Dallas Cowboys receiver Jalen Tolbert says the offense is still confident despite the shortcomings of late.
The Dallas Cowboys offense could have been forgiven for lacking confidence after what has transpired over the last two weeks.
Dak Prescott went down with a hamstring injury which now has ruled him out for the season, the team is on a four-game losing streak, the offense only managed six points against the Philadelphia Eagles and 146 total yards, but believe it or not, there's still confidence in the building.
With the Houston Texans up next, Dallas' confidence, if it hasn't already, is about to get severely tested, but Jalen Tolbert has full faith that if everyone does their job, the outcome will be favorable.
"Everybody in this locker room is confident," Tolbert said. "So it's just about molding [that] confidence together, going out there, one play at a time, being fully confident, being fully aware of what we have to do and the job that we have to do and doing it. Just not beating ourselves, taking care of everything that we have to take care of on this side of the the ball on this team, and I think we will love the outcome when we do that."
The problem with Tolbert's statement is that throughout the season, the offense has been inconsistent and has had trouble taking care of the football, with 15 total turnovers in the last five games.
Plus, going from one of the best offenses in football last season to now having the 23rd ranked (19.7 point per) makes it a big fall from grace.
But Jalen remains steadfast in his belief that if everyone on offense does their job, and takes care of business that this ship will begin to turn around. ... and that is his truth. However, it already feels like a lost cause at 3-6, and with a tough schedule coming up, plus injuries to key players, Tolbert's faith is getting tested.
And he has full belief that the offense, which has shot itself in the foot so often this season, will eventually get things right.
Sorry, Jalen, but color us skeptical.
