Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have been aggressive so far this offseason. After missing out on the playoffs last year, it is clear that the Cowboys want to do whatever they can to avoid that outcome in 2025.
Among the biggest moves of the offseason were re-signing Osa Odighizuwa, signing running backs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, landing pass rusher Dante Fowler Jr., and acquiring linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. in a trade with the Tennessee Titans.
They have made plenty of other moves past those as well.
Looking ahead to the NFL draft next month, Dallas will have another opportunity to add more important young talent.
Despite signing both Williams and Sanders, the Cowboys could consider pursuing a long-term running back option.
Adding a playmaker at the running back position would help take pressure off of quarterback Dak Prescott. With that in mind, a new prediction has Dallas landing that kind of playmaking threat in the backfield.
Chad Reuter of NFL.com recently released a new four-round mock draft. In that mock draft, he had the Cowboys selecting Ohio State standout running back TreVeyon Henderson in the second round at No. 51 overall.
During the 2024 college football season, Henderson was a big part of leading the Buckeyes to a national championship win. He carried the football 144 times for 1,016 yards and 10 touchdowns, while also catching 27 passes for 284 yards and a touchdown.
As a whole in his four-year Ohio State career, the dynamic running back picked up 3,761 yards and 42 touchdowns on the ground, while also racking up 853 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver.
Dallas would be landing an important piece to their offense with this move and a running back who has been compared to current NFL star Aaron Jones.
