Cowboys' Jerry Jones Not Surprised By Micah Parsons Trade Demand: 'Part of Negotiation'

The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons aren't exactly on the best of terms right now, with the star pass rusher wanting a new contract, but so far, Jerry Jones and the front office don't appear to be in a hurry to get a deal done.

As such, Micah made the radical move to request a trade away from the Cowboys, citing several reasons for his decision, and while we think it is the last lever to pull in an attempt to get contract talks started, that doesn't mean Parsons won't follow through.

But it appears that Jerry is content with where things are.

As the Cowboys continued practice in Oxnard, Jones was asked if he is surprised things have gotten this far with Micah.

"Not really," Jerry said. "Not really at all. This is just negotiation."

In truth, things shouldn't have gotten this far, and while Jerry knows more about the business side of the NFL than we do, a player getting to the point where he is fed up enough with the antics to request a trade shouldn't be part of the negotiation.

We have seen Myles Garrett and Lamar Jackson both follow this path, and ironically, both got their desired deal.

Do we think that Parsons will follow suit? We do. But all of this media talk needs to stop, because even if Micah does sign, how will this long-running saga affect the relationship he has with the franchise?

Micah has planted his flag in the ground. Now it is up to the front office to make the next move.

Part of the negotiation? Yeah, we don't think so.
