Connor McDavid Reveals His Biggest Fear and Nightmare Situation

With tonight being Halloween, Sportsnet shared a brief video of the NHL's biggest stars speaking about their biggest fears, which resurfaced an old clip of Connor McDavid describing a personal nightmarish situation.

Connor McDavid was the only Oiler to appear in the video, and named spiders as his biggest childhood fear.

McDavid's fear of spiders has a personal factor to it too. Fans recalled an old interview with Connor McDavid and Gene Principe, where McDavid detailed a nightmare situation with his then-girlfriend Lauren Kyle. McDavid was asked to lean over an apartment railing 40 floors in the air to get a spider for his girlfriend, and he nearly refused to do it.

I don't like to talk about my girlfriend too much, but she had a spider at her place. She lives on the 40 something floor of some building, she's way up there, and there's this massive spider at the top of the balcony in a huge web.

So she wanted me to kill it, and I'm like "How do you want me to kill that thing?" It is literally out of my reach. So she brings out a chair, puts it right in front of the balcony ledge. I'm like, do you want me to get on this chair, lean over the balcony on the 45th floor to try and get this spider? I hate heights too. So it was like all my fears combined in one.

It's honestly hilarious to hear that the Oilers superstar is still dealing with normal household tasks like getting spiders for his now wife while being totally scared himself. In this situation leaving over an apartment ledge, plenty of Oilers fans wouldn't want McDavid to risk it anyway!

The Oilers are in action tonight on Halloween against the Nashville Predators, but will be missing their star Connor McDavid for the next two to three weeks with an ankle injury. Hopefully he's able to get back on the ice as soon as possible.
