Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid met with the media after practice today as the team is on a decent run, and he had to laugh off one question from reporters just trying to sniff out a story.
The Oilers are facing some quality teams in the next two weeks, including the Tampa Bay Lightning, Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, and Florida Panthers.
McDavid was asked if this is a big test week for the Oilers, and he agreed that it was a good opportunity to measure up against contending teams. He was then asked the same question again, and he could only laugh it off.
"Yeah, it'll be a great test for us, see where we're at. I feel like all the questions have been the same today. You know? You guys are trying to make a story here, but yeah, I mean we're playing pretty well and we're playing some good teams this week, and it'll be a good test."- Connor McDavid
Oilers Superstar Connor McDavid Laughs Off Question From Reporter, Says Oilers are Fine
The Oilers are beginning to find their groove after another inconsistent start to their season this year.
Edmonton is now 6-2 in their last 8 games and have vaulted themselves back into a playoff spot this season. TSN has just named the Oilers as the top Canadian team in their power rankings again.
Against these top level teams though, the Oilers will want to bring their best game - and it seems like they're ready. Some of these games could be playoff previews, and it culminates with a Stanley Cup Rematch against the Florida Panthers.
What Connor McDavid is saying here is that there is no big story for the Oilers right now. They're humming along, finding their rhythm, and are excited about the tests coming this week. It should be great hockey.
