Comparing Patriots players to the best Thanksgiving dishes

The New England Patriots will face off against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 13. Before they play, both teams will celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday.

Nov 17, 2024; Foxborough, Massachusetts, USA; New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye (10) walks onto the field before a game against the Los Angeles Rams at Gillette Stadium.

This is a rebuild season for the Patriots, so their record is not what anybody wants. But that means we can just have some fun right now.

On that note of Thanksgiving, which of the holiday's foods symbolize Patriots players?

Turkey - Drake Maye

A staples of the meal. It's not Thanksgiving without Turkey, and with the Patriots, Drake Maye truly is the team right now.

Gravy - Christian Gonzalez

On the defensive side of the ball, Christian Gonzalez has been holding things down. Despite some struggles, whenever he is matched up against someone, they rarely get the ball. Gravy is a food that is spread across the top of every thanksgiving dish and goes with everything. With that, it doesn’t matter who Gonzalez matches up against because he always makes an impact.

Stuffing - Mike Onwenu

Stuffing is also a staple of Thanksgiving, but it isn't as flashy as the turkey that sits at the center of the table. The offensive line has been a huge issue for the Patriots this season, but they have Mike Onwenu and have utilized his versatility. Without him on the line, things could be a lot worse for Drake Maye.

Cranberry Sauce - Hunter Henry

This dish adds something sweet to the meal, and that's how it's been on offense when Maye hits Hunter Henry. He has been the most reliable weapon for New England, so it's something fans can look forward to while other things aren't working out.

Macaroni and Cheese - Christian Barmore

This isn’t on everyone’s table during Thanksgiving, but when it is you certainly notice it. And that's Christian Barmore this season. Barmore has overcome so much, getting back onto the field after being diagnosed with blood clots in training camp. And when he got onto the field, you immediately noticed his impact.

Mashed Potatoes - Brenden Schooler

While he is a core special teamer, the Patriots have incorporated Brenden Schooler more on defense. And each time he's out there, some big play for New England happens. So just like mashed potatoes, he's good wherever they go.

Brussel Sprouts - Kayshon Boutte

Brussel Sprouts are a food that not everyone likes, but those that do, LOVE them. However, they remain a popular side dish during thanksgiving. Boutte has made some highlight catches this season, making him one of the team's top receivers. However, he has also struggled to create separation. So there are people who are big fans, while others aren't sold just yet.

Apple Pie - Kendrick Bourne

A leader and one of the nicest guys on the roster. Everybody loves Apple Pie, and the same can be said about Kendrick Bourne.

Pumpkin Pie - Rhamondre Stevenson

While apple pie is the main dessert of Thanksgiving, the spices in pumpkin pie always pack a punch, and Stevenson does that when the run game gets going for the Patriots.

Pecan Pie -  Bryce Baringer

All the different ingredients in pecan pie combine for a balanced bite, and that's Bryce Baringer. The punter has been busy the past two seasons, and he always does his job when he steps on the field.
