Commanders QB Jayden Daniels wins another award

Three weeks into his NFL career, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels continues to bring home the hardware.

On Wednesday, the NFL named Daniels the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after his performance in Monday night’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals. On Thursday, Daniels added another honor: For the second time in three weeks, he won the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week.

Daniels completed 21 of 23 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Bengals. He also rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown. Daniels was flawless on Monday night and, for the second straight game, led the Commanders to a score on every offensive possession, excluding kneel-downs. Washington hasn’t punted since Week 1.

At 2-1, the Commanders are back on the road in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals. In preparation for the Cards, Washington flew to Arizona directly after Monday night’s game.

The Commanders are currently tied for first in the NFC East with the Philadelphia Eagles.
