Commanders' Offseason To-Do List Perfectly Clear

Last offseason, the Washington Commanders aggressively attacked free agency, bringing in veteran players who they felt could make a real difference in Year 1 of the new regime.

And boy, did they.

The likes of Frankie Luvu, Bobby Wagner, Tyler Biadasz, Dante Fowler Jr., Dorance Armstrong, Bobby Wanger and Co. all made giant strides and played a significant role in the Commanders going from a four-win team in 2023 to a 12-5 regular season team in 2024 that also won two road playoff games.

But now isn't the time to rest on your laurels. Washington is again being urged to attack free agency and take advantage of Jayden Daniels' rookie contract.

They've got the cap space to do it, and for ESPN, the path for the Commanders this offseason is clear.

"The buzz is palpable in Washington, which was one win from the Super Bowl during what was supposed to be a transitional year," ESPN writes. "A series of veterans on one-year deals performed well -- including Zach Ertz, Bobby Wagner and Dante Fowler Jr. -- so the Commanders must decide which players should return. Some around the league expect Washington to secure a viable No. 2 receiver to Terry McLaurin. Improvements along the offensive line could be in order."

Deciding which of the free agents signed last offseason will stick around will be key, plus the Commanders need another offensive weapon to give Terry McLaurin a breather, and as we saw in the Super Bowl, getting the proper protection for the quarterback is also crucial.

So the Commanders know what they have to do and which positions need to be reinforced.

They have the cap space and know where they can attack.

It's time to push all the chips into the table before Jayden's contract comes due.
