Their stifling defense, which ranked second in the NFL in both yards and points allowed, played a crucial role in shutting down their high-powered playoff opponents. The Chiefs’ repeat triumph cemented their status as one of the greatest teams of the modern NFL era.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Wide Receiving Corp Ranked Right in the Middle of the NFL
Apart from having quarterback Mahomes lead the team’s offense, Kansas City also relies on its wide receivers to get the job done. However, in an article written by Trevor Sikkema, the PFF ranked their WR corps right in the middle of the league.
“Even with Travis Kelce, the Chiefs finished 2023 with just an 18th-ranked team receiving grade. They have since gone out and upgraded in the form of Hollywood Brown, Mecole Hardman and Xavier Worthy. If Rashee Rice can build on what he did last season with the new names around him, this should be a better unit,” Sikkema wrote.
Last season, the Chiefs finished first in the AFC West division with 11 wins and six losses. They also fielded a 15th ranked offense and a second place defense out of 32 teams in the NFL.
