Travis Kelce recently revealed having rejected a massive opportunity.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has quite a lot going on, especially given his relationship with Taylor Swift. But he could have had a bit more on his plate had he agreed to participate in an upcoming show.
Last year, Netflix produced an immensely popular documentary called ‘Quarterback’ featuring Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes and other pro QBs. They’re following that up with a novel launch branded ‘Receiver,’ which puts the likes of Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Deebo Samuel front and center.
Kelce was a guest on the ‘Bussin’ With The Boys’ podcast recently and revealed he was approached by the producers but didn’t want to be part of the show.
“After [Patrick Mahomes] did [Quarterback], I did get asked about it,” he said. “I just — I don’t know. I’d rather just play ball, man. I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything. I’m way over the reality s**t, dude. I’m out on that s**t.”
Travis Kelce May Have Had Other Reasons For Not Wanting To Be Featured In ‘Receiver’
Travis Kelce does have a lot going on, in truth, but perhaps his relationship was the main reason for his refusal.
The show followed the aforementioned stars throughout last season, which is when Travis and Taylor Swift began dating.
Had he agreed to be part of it, the show would have brought the new couple a lot of unwanted publicity, which would have probably made the series the most-watched in Netflix history.
It’s likely what the streaming company was going for too, but we imagine Taylor would have hated it.
