The 2024 NFL trade deadline is coming up quickly. At this point in time, it sure seems like quite a few moves could happen before the deadline on November 5th. It also looks like the Kansas City Chiefs could be a very active team in trade discussions.

As has been the case over the last few years, the Chiefs will always look to add talent that helps them win. They will also look to add talent around superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

So far, Kansas City has been linked to wide receiver trade targets like Amari Cooper and DeAndre Hopkins. Either one of those guys would take their offense to the next level.

That being said, could the Kansas City Chiefs also consider trading away one of their own wide receivers?

Sayre Bedinger of KC Kingdom believes that the Chiefs might just trade away a wide receiver currently on their roster. He thinks that Skyy Moore might be on his way out of town.

“Skyy Moore has done nothing to prove himself worthy of a roster spot on the Chiefs at this point. He’s not contributing as a receiver or returner, and he might just need a change of scenery at this point. Luckily for him, he’s still very young and the ink is probably still drying on his scouting reports for some teams out there who loved his upside a couple of years ago,” Bedinger wrote.

Trading Moore would make a lot of sense for the Kansas City Chiefs. At this point in time, he has made no impact on the offense and that doesn’t appear likely to change anytime soon.

Originally drafted by the Chiefs with the No. 54 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Moore has not put up good numbers through his first 35 career games. He has caught just 43 passes for 494 yards and a touchdown.

Clearly, those are not the kind of numbers that Kansas City was hoping to receive from him.

Making a move for Cooper or Hopkins and moving off of Moore would be a massive upgrade for the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s the kind of move that would help secure them as Super Bowl favorites again.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the Chiefs end up doing ahead of the trade deadline. It sure seems like they could look to make a move or two.
