Chiefs Named ‘Logical’ Trade Partner For $21 Million Star WR

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly eyeing potential moves to bolster their receiving corps, following recent injuries that have tested the depth of the roster.

With Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown already placed on injured reserve, the Chiefs have emerged as a possible trade partner for a $21 million star receiver ahead of the trade deadline.

According to Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, Tee Higgins is a name to watch as the deadline approaches. The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver has been seeking a long-term extension, but a deal has yet to materialize.

"Cincinnati could be back to .500 by the trade deadline, and if it is, Higgins won't be going anywhere," Knox noted. "He looked fully healthy in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens and finished with nine catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns." With upcoming games against the Giants and Browns, the Bengals have an opportunity to regain momentum.

However, if Cincinnati continues to struggle, trading Higgins could be on the table. "If the Bengals continue to blow games, however, Higgins would be a logical trade commodity because he's set to be a free agent in the spring," Knox explained. "Logical suitors include the Kansas City Chiefs, who recently placed Rashee Rice on injured reserve, and the Dallas Cowboys," he added.

Higgins, who is playing under the franchise tag for $21.8 million this season, has made it clear that he wants long-term security.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs could benefit from his playmaking abilities to strengthen their offense. With Patrick Mahomes at the helm, Higgins would immediately step in as a high-end receiving option, providing the team with a needed boost as they look to make another Super Bowl run.

With the trade deadline approaching, the possibility of a move involving Tee Higgins is gaining attention, especially as the Chiefs look to address their depth at wide receiver.
