The Kansas City Chiefs, sporting an impressive 13-1 record, have secured their playoff berth but face a crucial challenge in maintaining the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Their Week 16 matchup against the Houston Texans promises to be more demanding than their previous encounter with the Cleveland Browns.
Ahead of this pivotal clash, the Chiefs announced several roster moves.
“We have activated WR Hollywood Brown from Reserve/Injured. We have activated Practice Squad players S Deon Bush and TE Anthony Firkser via Standard Elevation. We have placed TE Baylor Cupp on Practice Squad; Injured,” the team wrote on X.
The most significant move is the return of Brown, with the wide receiver set to make his first appearance of the regular season.
Though the Texans have put together an admirable season, the Chiefs remain in a class of their own.
Their defense has shown improvement in the latter half of the season and should effectively contain Houston’s offensive efforts.
The Chiefs’ receiving corps, however, has weathered its share of setbacks. The loss of promising second-year receiver Rashee Rice to a season-ending knee injury in Week 4, coupled with Brown’s preseason injury, tested their depth.
Now, with Brown’s return, the Chiefs can field a formidable lineup with him joining wideouts DeAndre Hopkins, Xavier Worthy and JuJu Smith-Schuster, as well as tight ends Travis Kelce and Noah Gray.
