Chiefs General Manager Has “In” With Tennessee Titans To Propose Massive Trade (Report)

The Kansas City Chiefs know they have a target on their back heading into the 2024 season.  Being the back-to-back Super Bowl champions will certainly do that.

Their general manager Brett Veach, however, may still have a string or two up his sleeve when it comes to trade proposals.

According to the NFL Scouting Department at Bleacher Report, the Chiefs have a way to trade for  WR Treylon Burks right now:

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach already has a working relationship with Titans GM Ran Carthon. The two worked out the agreement that sent L’Jarius Sneed to Tennessee. They could link up again to discuss a deal that would bring Treylon Burks to the Chiefs.

Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore and Justyn Ross are running out of chances to prove they can do something for Kansas City, and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown’s shoulder injury leaves it shorthanded.

Treylon Burks has a lot of physical attributes that make him an intriguing prospect, but he hasn’t been able to put things together on the field and he’s slipping down the pecking order in Tennessee.

It would be absolutely shocking to see the Titans:

  • Trade away a 24-year-old wide receiver half way through his rookie contract
  • To a conference rival who is certainly going to be there in the playoffs
  • Trade away one of their top weapons when trying to develop their young QB in Will Levis

If the Chiefs’ GM had that kind of pull over the Titans, some might question how.

Due to injuries the past few seasons, Burks’ health has been a concern. However, if he can stay on the field, he could be an important weapon.

He finished the season with 221 yards on 16 receptions, which isn’t bad considering he was only targeted 30 times. As long as he remains on the field and receives more targets, he could be a serious part of the Titans offense.
