Chiefs Former 3x Super Bowl Champion Has Rumors Exploding To Return To Kansas City

The Kansas City Chiefs are going into the 2024 season with all the confidence in the world to three-peat as Super Bowl Champions.  The Chiefs have become a model of excellence throughout Patrick Mahomes’ tenure with the team.

However, there is a former three-time Super Bowl champion who could now team back up with Mahomes’ offense.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that Miami released TE Jody Fortson on Sunday.

Fortson missed all of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery before the season started. After signing a contract with the Dolphins in March, he caught two of three targets for 20 yards during the exhibition season, but he will not make the final roster cut. There is still a possibility that Fortson will end up on the team’s practice squad.

Most NFL fans were a bit surprised by the decision, even clamoring that he will be picked up by another team:
