Chiefs decision could add WR who had 235 yards in one game

The Kansas City Chiefs find a way to turn lots of different players into useful pass catchers for Patrick Mahomes.

The latest gem may be an undrafted wideout from Fresno State.

His name is Mac Dalena, and he has turned some heads early in the offseason.

Dalena's biggest college achievement was his 235-yard game against Sacramento State. It took just seven catches for Dalena to accumulate that huge total.

According to SI, Dalena signed a three-year, $2.975 million contract with the Chiefs, which included a $10,000 signing bonus and $210,000 guaranteed.

Dalena's Fresno State bio says his favorite athlete is Julian Edelman. That'd sure be a solid outcome for the Chiefs.

He was a three-star recruit in high school from right there in Fresno, California, so he stayed home for his college career.

At 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, Dalena is the kind of shifty target who can become a QB's best friend if things work out in his favor.

Don't count on him having a huge NFL career, but he might just find a way to stick around. The Chiefs don't usually bring in guys that they can't envision a role for.
