Despite winning the past two Super Bowls, the Kansas City Chiefs knew they had some work to do in the offseason if they wanted to contend for a third straight title.
The team was diligent in attacking the wide receiver position, acquiring an alpha receiver they believed could do some great work with Patrick Mahomes.
Unfortunately for them, Hollywood Brown has not made his season debut, as he suffered an injury to his SC joint, putting a potential damper on the Chiefs’ offense.
They’ve made it work without Brown and Rashee Rice, who got injured earlier in the season as well, but they’d like these players back as soon as possible to increase their title chances.
Rice isn’t going to play again this year, but it seems like Brown might be able to suit up for them.
According to Ian Rapoport on X, Brown recently got the necessary clearance to come back to practice, an indication that fans could see him on the field sooner rather than later.
Rapoport noted that the Chiefs will be cautious when he comes back into the fold, getting another veteran on this offense, in any capacity, will be a welcomed addition.
Patrick Mahomes hasn’t looked like his typical dominant self this year, which has caused some fans concern.
Adding DeAndre Hopkins was a step in the right direction, but getting Brown back could be just what the doctor ordered for a team looking to make history with a third consecutive Lombardi Trophy.
