The Chicago Bulls point guard is back in action after missing two full seasons and aside from showing off his potential, he is also turning heads with his claims that some colleagues might find shocking.

Appearing at The WAE Show, the 2017 second overall pick made a bold statement by saying not everyone in the NBA are among the world’s absolute best.

“There’s players in the NBA that are not as good as some players that are not in the NBA,” Ball said. “And I think a lot of people in the NBA would testify to that. There’s a lot of things that go on other than just the player.”

It is a surprising take from an NBA players as the American basketball league has been the standard.  What could be the reason why the best ones don’t get in? Ball cited a lot of factors.

“It’s not just about talent; there are numerous factors involved, such as politics, opportunities, and circumstances that influence a player’s career.” He continued, “I would argue that the 450 players in the league don’t represent the absolute best talent globally, and there are many variables that could change that scenario – a plethora of ‘what-ifs’ come into play.”

Lonzo Ball’s return a success but minutes might be limited

Ball scored in double digits in his last two outings in the pre-season. He showed flashes of the brilliance he had before his knee injury, leaving fans wanting more come the regular season.

Fans need to temper their expectations as his minutes might be limited but not for injury reasons.

Ball will have to contend for the point guard spot with Josh Giddey who is now the starting PG. There is also Coby White who may takeover the quarterbacking duties.

The 26-year-old is not sulking. He said he is ready to contribute in any ways that he can.

“There’s nothing that I really want to do stat wise, it’s just going out there and doing my job. I feel like I can still compete at a high level. That’s why I wanted to come back, that’s why I’m back, and that’s why I’m still playing,” he said.
